The Mortgage Banking division focuses on originating residential mortgage loans, predominantly for sale within the secondary market. The company also maintains an investment portfolio containing a mix of securities, such as mortgage-backed securities, bonds from government-sponsored and private enterprises, collateralized mortgage and municipal obligations, and other debt instruments. Its operational footprint includes 14 full-service banking offices, a single drive-through facility, and 14 automated teller machines, strategically placed across Milwaukee, Washington, and Waukesha Counties in Wisconsin. Founded in 1921 and headquartered in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, the firm was formerly known as Wauwatosa Holdings, Inc., adopting its current name, Waterstone Financial, Inc., in August 2008.
